LGU GENSAN HEADS OF OFFICES TOOK TIME TO BE NATURE LOVERS

September 10, 2021, all LGU Gensan Department Heads, Assistant Department Heads, Executive Assistants, including  Vice Mayor Loreto B. Acharon,  with special participation from the Socsksargen Fishing Federation and Allied Services (SFFAII) and the Pioneers-Descendants of General Santos City, Inc (TPDGSCI) planted 68 Narra Trees at Carlos P. Garcia Park  (Oval Plaza).

The planting of trees was done to complete the 75 trees to be planted in Gensan, to commemorate the 75th Philippines -Australia Diplomatic Ties this year. The seven (7) trees were already planted at Plaza Heneral Santos by the Australia Ambassador Steven J. Robinson AO himself, together with his Embassy Staff, and Australian Global Alumni last September 2, 2021.

The heads of offices planted the trees on staggard schedules, on the said date, to avoid congestion at the same time abide with the standard health protocols. Giving time to replenish and go back to nature is such a laudable effort from these world class managers. We, in the IDRS, CEMCDO took time to capture the rare moments with these bosses, to wit:

A. On Bended Knees….

On Bended Backs….

The Pioneers Descendants of Gen. Paulino Santos

On Standing Ovation

 SFFAII Officers and Members

The whole activity was facilitated and managed by the International and Domestic Relations Section of CEMCDO. While we completed the required number of 75 trees,  (7 trees at Plaza Heneral Santos last Sept 2 and 68 trees at Oval Plaza on Sept 10)  to commemorate the 75th anniversary, we actually planted more trees,  reaching up to 80 (eighty trees) at the Oval Plaza alone. This is to make use of the time while trees and planters are gathered for the same purpose.

While everyone knew the rationale behind the tree planting activity, aside from the fact that 75th Anniversary celebration, Closing program of Tunafest 2021,  planting to contribute to the  environment,  it was also observed that most LGU Heads were talking about legacy.  Leaving a living tree at the oval plaza as remembrance while on government service, meant more meaningful to them.

Looking forward for these trees to grow tall and shade our Oval Plaza making it cool and beautiful.
