CELEBRATING RICH HISTORY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE, GENERAL SANTOS CITY HOLDS THE FIRST LOCAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE WEEK
In line with the celebration of the National Heritage Month (NHM) held in May of every year, to create among the Filipino people a consciousness, respect, and love for the legacies of the nation’s cultural history, the City of General Santos through the General Santos City Culture and Arts Council and the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office will hold the Local History and Heritage Week on May 17-21, 2021.
This year marks a milestone in the Philippines’ history and heritage, thus themed, “Victory and Humanity: Upholding Filipino Heritage and Identity”. The same theme is adopted by the city to commemorate and rekindle the city’s history and diverse cultural heritage to which it owes its development and success.
Exciting activities have been lined up for every General to look forward to such as the Virtual Tour: Japanese Bunker Edition, Virtual Sundayag Film Festival, Gensan Heritage Trivia, and many other different games as prizes await! All exciting activities will be held and participated by all Generals via digital platforms and social media activities in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
