LGU Gensan commemorates Gen. Paulino Santos’ 77th Death Anniversary
 August 29, 2022 -  the Generals, represented by their City Officials  commemorated  Gen. Paulino Santos' 77th Death Anniversary at the Bantayog ni Heneral Santos.
The Wreath Laying Ceremony was graced by the City Mayor and Vice Mayor along with the City Councilors of the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod and the President of the Pioneers-Descendants of General Santos City.
LGU Department heads, Assistant Department Heads and Division Chiefs together with the General Santos City Police Office, Join Task Force, and Members of the Knights of Columbus also participated in the said activity.
Gensan-Bataan sisterhood seen to boost economic development
The General Santos City and the Province of Bataan are set to mutually benefit from public and private sector partnerships pursuing the expansion of investments, trade, and tourism in both areas.
These partnerships were made official during the sisterhood signing ceremony last August 25, 2022 at the Bunker, Capitol Compound City of Balanga, Bataan, Philippines.
The General Santos City government represented by Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao led the signing ceremonies and forged sisterhood agreements with the Provincial Government of Bataan to expand partnerships and linkages.
Bataan Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia, III expressed his profound gratitude to the General Santos City delegation headed by Mayor Lorelie Geronimo-Pacquiao for accepting their invitation to enter into Sisterhood Signing Agreement. He said, "May this MOA signing that we have today will mutually help us to move forward from the challenges ahead of us and thus we will journey together to sharing the best in us."
Among the provisions in the MOA are: The exchanges of best practices in Social Services, Economic Enterprise Development, Public-Private Partnerships, Investment promotions, barter of trade and commerce through advertising, patronizing each local government unit's assets with the assistance of the private sector, MSMEs promotion and development, and promotion and development of cultural heritage, and arts.
Likewise included are sharing of best practices on ICT, local government administration, revenue generation, resource management, Halal industry, environmental protection, and other innovative programs and projects.
Stipulated in the pact are the exchanges of school students, teachers, workers, correspondence, sports, cross visits of government officials, employees, and public and private organizations to learn about effective governance and efficient public service practices.
“We are excited to commence these new partnerships with the public and private sectors of Bataan. These will truly empower and benefit our constituents which will support new developments and sustainable growth in our city,” said Mayor Pacquiao.
Other priority areas of cooperation include the organization of trade and business missions for tourism and investments and other programs which will surely impact the economic boost between Gensan and Bataan.
The Local Government Unit of the Province of Bataan hosted the signing event headed by their governor together with Vice Governor Ma. Christina M. Garcia, and Balanga City Mayor Francis G.Garcia.
First gentleman Alberto Pacquiao, CEMCDO Head , Dr. Leonard Flores, CESE , EA Johnrex Galdo, CPIO Rombel Catolico, Senior Tourism Officer Maria Cora S. Tito, Economist Officer Ellorence Cruz, Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist Maria Lessa Barcelona and some department heads, national government agencies and private sectors in the Province of Bataan graced the occasion with their presence. GenSan delegates visits LEDIP and IFIT Iloilo City


Iloilo City | GenSan delegates visited the Local Economic Development and  Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Office and conducted a one-on-one discussion meeting with Iloilo Federation for Information Technology (IFIT) to gather insights on the investment promotions particularly in ICT/BPM industry, 24 August 2022 at LEDIP Office, Iloilo City Hall.
Iloilo City is recognized as one of the new Center of Excellence for IT and business process management operations and for being a premiere hub for outsourcing.
Present during the meeting were: Mr. Joeven Tansi, Executive Director of IFIT, Ms. Velma Jane Lao, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer together with her staffs, Mr. Francis Canlas, Executive Assistant to the City Mayor of GenSan, Mr. Troy Torrecampo, Mr. Gregorio Dominic Velos, and Mr. Jayson Mark Pido of CEMCDO.

GenSan and Lucena are now Sister Cities

A sisterhood agreement between the cities of General Santos and Lucena was formally signed by Mayors Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao of General Santos City and Mark Don Victor B. Alcala of Lucena City on Tuesday, August 23 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Lucena City marking a long-term partnership and collaboration.

Brief History of CEMCDO
General Santos City
In 1990, the City Economic Management Office (CEMO), together with the City Population Management Office (CPMO) and the City Housing and Land Management Office (CHLMO) were created to address the increasing demands of the city, as it continues to develop.

The City Economic Management Office was created through SP Ordinance No. 22, series of 1990, in order for the city to have a specialized department dealing with specific issues, concerns, and demands with regards to the economic development.
